Fritz Hansen Celebrates Launch of N01 Chair in Singapore, Designed in Collaboration With Japanese Design Firm Nendo

8 August 2018, Singapore – W. Atelier, together with The Republic of Fritz Hansen, celebrated launch of the N01 chair in Singapore. The event was held at W. Atelier’s Bukit Timah showroom at a cozy evening reception on 8 August, to 100 guests comprising industry partners and members of the media. Guests were treated to a tranquil Japanese-themed evening with delicious Japanese canapes and refreshing Japanese beer.

The N01 is a beautiful wooden chair designed by Fritz Hansen, designed in collaboration with Japanese design firm Nendo. Combining the best of Danish and Japanese aesthetics and purity, the N01 embraces the essence of timeless wood craftsmanship. It is meticulously hand-assembled using 23 pieces of wood and veneer from a Belgian family-owned wood manufacturer founded in 1924, and the result is a seamless piece of furniture whose sleek construction belies immense strength and stability. With its gently curved seat and back panel, and a specially designed joint that gave the impression that the shell and the frame were touching each other as little as possible so as to preserve the overall sense of lightness; the N01 is truly a collaborative work of art and construction by Fritz Hansen and Nendo.

At the end of the night, there was a lucky draw whereby the winner walked away with the new N01 chair in the colour Black Oak, worth $1,260. N01 is available in three colours, Black Oak, Natural Oak and Beech, with optional seat cushions in fabric or leather. The starting price of the N01 chair is $1,135 and it is now available at W. Atelier.
