Stilnovo at W. Atelier Singapore — the masters of Italian light.

Intuition, irony and eighty years of lighting history.

Founded in Milan in 1946, Stilnovo made lighting history from the 1940s to the 1980s through collaborations with Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Richard Sapper, Gae Aulenti, Joe Colombo and Ettore Sottsass. Today its icons — Saliscendi, Topo, Periscopio, Halley — are re-engineered with LED, blending craftsmanship with industry. Presented in Singapore by W. Atelier.

Eighty years of light, one Milanese signature.

Stilnovo was founded in Milan in 1946, in the first light of post-war Italy, and for four decades it sat at the centre of the country's design revolution. Its lamps were born from intuition, irony and magnificent collaborations — the Castiglioni brothers' Saliscendi for the Milan Chamber of Commerce in 1957, Joe Colombo's Topo with its sports-car air vents, the Aroldi brothers' Periscopio, Gae Aulenti's Minibox and Colonna, Ettore Sottsass' Valigia. Pieces from the archive now sit in the world's most important museums, MoMA New York among them, and the collection has been honoured with the Red Dot, the iF Design Award, a Compasso d'Oro honourable mention and the ADI Design Index.

In 2019 Stilnovo joined Linea Light Group, an Italian leader in LED technology based in the Veneto. The result is a collection built exclusively on LED: historic designs re-engineered with dimmable sources that preserve the brilliance of the original form, alongside contemporary work by Richard Sapper, Mirco Crosatto, Shigeaki Asahara and Pio and Tito Toso. Craftsmanship and industrialisation, Italian savoir-faire and timeless collections that find their way into the most prestigious projects. As Stilnovo's Singapore partner, W. Atelier presents the collection at our Henderson Road showroom.

The Castiglioni brothers' Saliscendi slides its luminous body and reflective disc along the cables to shift between direct and indirect light.
