Karakter at W. Atelier Singapore — Danish design with an international outlook.
Founded on rebellious curiosity and a passion for the unique.
A Copenhagen design house of furniture, lighting and objects — honest, expressive and sometimes playful. Rooted in the Scandinavian tradition with an Italian-influenced eye, Karakter re-editions masters like Bodil Kjær, the Castiglioni and Scarpa brothers and Angelo Mangiarotti, alongside contemporary work by Aldo Bakker. Presented in Singapore by W. Atelier.

· Karakter ·
A Danish design house, built on rebellious curiosity.
Karakter is a Danish design house, founded on a spirit of exploration, courage and an uncompromising attitude to quality. Where much of Scandinavian design settles into a familiar register, Karakter is a little out of the ordinary — rooted in the proud Danish tradition, but always looking outward, with a distinctly international, Italian-influenced sensibility. Its portfolio of furniture, lighting and objects is relevant, honest, expressive and, at times, playful — each piece carrying a clear, undeniable character.
Aspiring to build an enduring legacy, Karakter re-editions the work of design masters — Bodil Kjær, whose 1959 Office Desk is among its icons; Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni; Afra and Tobia Scarpa, authors of the 121 Scarpa dining chair; Paul McCobb; Joe Colombo; and Angelo Mangiarotti, whose lighting and marble pieces the brand has revived — alongside contemporary designers such as Aldo Bakker and PlueerSmitt. As Karakter's Singapore partner, W. Atelier presents this collection at our Henderson Road showroom.
Four pillars of Karakter.
Danish, with an International Eye
A Copenhagen design house rooted in the Scandinavian tradition but always looking outward — blending Danish craftsmanship with a distinctly Italian-influenced sensibility.
Masters, Re-Editioned
Karakter revives the work of design masters — Bodil Kjær, the Castiglioni and Scarpa brothers, Paul McCobb, Joe Colombo and Angelo Mangiarotti — produced to their original spirit.
Furniture, Lighting & Objects
A portfolio that spans the room — seating and tables, sculptural lighting, and interior objects — each piece honest, expressive and sometimes playful.

Three ways to live with Karakter.
Furniture, lighting and objects — each with a clear character.
Furniture
The heart of Karakter — chairs, lounges, tables and desks that pair mid-century re-editions with contemporary design. From the Scarpa 925 lounge and the GB Lounge to Bodil Kjær's Office Desk, each piece has a clear, honest expression and pride of place in the room.

Lighting
Sculptural lighting with a distinct point of view — including Angelo Mangiarotti's designs for Karakter, such as the Lari lamp. Pieces that play between soft sensuousness and robust practicality, shaping a space as much as lighting it.

Accessories
Interior objects that carry the same character as the furniture — from Angelo Mangiarotti's marble pieces to Aldo Bakker's sculptural objects and stools. Small in scale, distinct in expression, made to be lived with.
